The Return of the New Book Day Blog

So, you may have noticed that the New Book Day blog has been M.I.A. for the last couple of weeks. This might have even concerned you a bit, it might not have. Well, the reason for the blog’s absence is really quite simple.

I got behind on the comic.

While I have worked out something like a schedule in order to get you guys three comics a week, keeping the blog updated took more time than I anticipated. Some of my other writing work has taken a hit also and it has really bothered me.

So, time to stand back, reassess and regroup.

First, New Book Day will continue three times a week updates. It seems more and more of you are enjoying the adventures of Diego and company and for that I am incredibly grateful. Without you, this whole exercise is pretty much pointless.

Next, the blog; starting this week, Thursdays will be for my comic book review of the week. It will be shorter than the Longbox Diving pieces I’ve been writing and should therefore be easier to get done. Plus you get to read my opinions about current comics on the stands. I know, you feel blessed.

Speaking of Longbox Diving, I’m going to move that to Saturdays. Yes, I know popular opinion is that no one checks out the internet on weekends. That may have used to be true, but I really don’t think that is the case anymore with smartphones and the like. Longbox Diving will be posted every other Saturday or so, until I can get some columns backed up.

Tuesdays will still be for me to plug my other writing and give you guys updates about the comic. I have some really exciting things planned for the near future that I think you may like. Or you’ll hate it, I’m not really sure.

So there you have it; a new plan for the NBD blog. And new comics every Monday, Wednesday and Friday with the occasional Twitter update. Enjoy and thanks for reading!

The Write Stuff

This week we have a couple new articles going live, a contest and a delay.

First, over on Geekadelphia my weekly Comic Roundup is live. This week I review The Transformers #27, The Strange Talent of Luther Strode #1 and Animal Man #2.

Next, over on The Geekery Online, my latest article is now up and is a review of the highs and lows of the first month of the DC New 52. Check it out and see if you agree.

And don’t forget that my review of Zenescope’s Grimm Fairy Tales: Myths & Legends volume 1 trade paperback is also on Geekadelphia. You can also enter to win a copy for yourself!

And now, the delay; due to my being horribly ill the past few days, I have seriously fallen behind on the comic. As a result, the new blog schedule will begin the week of the 23rd, instead of this week. I just need a week or two to get ahead on comics so I don’t miss any deadlines. The comic is what is most important, so I figured the blog could wait a week or so.

See you all tomorrow!
